Bournemouth beat Aston Villa 3–0 in the English League Cup after Amine Adli opened the scoring in the seventh minute. Lewis Cook added the second after 51 minutes and Álvaro Rodríguez completed the three-goal margin in the 69th.

Possession was much closer than the score: Bournemouth held 49.1 per cent and Villa 50.9 per cent. ESPN records 19 Bournemouth attempts and seven on target, compared with 17 Villa attempts and five on target. The match therefore cannot be reduced to one team having the ball and the other never reaching shooting positions.

The clearest difference lay in the recorded goals and the clean sheet. Adli provided an early advantage, Cook widened it after the interval and Rodríguez supplied further insurance later in the second half. Those separate stages explain how the final margin accumulated rather than suggesting all three goals came from a single brief burst.
