A shared club name is not the same team record

Names such as Sundowns and AS FAR occur in men’s and women’s football, but the sporting records are distinct. Men’s points, squads and results must not be transferred into this tournament. The unresolved place also remains a regional representative until confirmed by the organiser; neither team in the unfinished qualifier is selected on the basis of predictions.

When standings become meaningful

Before kick-off there are no results from this group phase that establish a leader or qualifier. Once matches start, each result needs its correct group, and a current position must be distinguished from secured semi-final progression. A schedule change or completion of the outstanding qualifier requires a fresh source check. This report consequently describes the published programme and its review date rather than claiming to be a live table that updates during reading.
